1Who we are

PetCue is provided by Fabian Michał Rzadkiewicz, a sole trader established in Poland, with the business address Gdańska 125/7, 85-022 Bydgoszcz, Poland (referred to as “PetCue”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). For personal data processed for PetCue’s purposes, we act as the data controller. You can contact us at support@petcueapp.com.

2Privacy at a glance

  • PetCue does not require an account and does not operate a PetCue database containing your cat-care records.
  • Cat profiles, daily observations, medication records, photos, notes, and veterinary information are stored locally on your device and may be included in your private iCloud backup or synchronization environment if iCloud is enabled.
  • We use Apple services and RevenueCat to offer and manage App Store subscriptions. We may use PostHog for limited product analytics.
  • We do not sell personal data, show third-party advertising, or track you across unrelated apps or websites for advertising.

Important: PetCue is a record-keeping and organizational tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose illness, and does not replace professional veterinary advice, examination, diagnosis, or treatment.

3Information stored on your device

You may enter information such as cat names and profiles, care routines, feeding and litter observations, symptoms or behavioral observations, medications, vaccination and deworming information, photographs, notes, and content used to prepare summaries for a veterinarian. This content is stored locally within the app on your device.

We do not receive or have routine access to this locally stored content. You control it through your device and the app. If you export or share a report, image, or other record, the recipient and destination are selected by you, and the receiving service’s privacy terms apply.

4iCloud backup and synchronization

If you enable iCloud, Apple may back up or synchronize PetCue app data through the iCloud account associated with your device. This processing is provided by Apple under your Apple account settings and Apple’s privacy terms. PetCue does not control Apple’s infrastructure and cannot directly view your iCloud content. You can manage iCloud access and backups in your device settings.

5Information processed through service providers

Although PetCue does not maintain a backend for your cat-care records, some technical and subscription information is processed remotely by service providers:

Apple

Apple may process App Store purchase and subscription information, receipts, storefront and transaction details, app analytics, crash reports, diagnostics, and device or system information according to your Apple privacy and analytics settings. Apple handles payment processing and refund requests for App Store purchases.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat helps validate purchases and manage subscription entitlements. It may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, product and entitlement status, receipt or transaction information, app and device metadata, and related technical events. PetCue does not provide RevenueCat with your cat-care records, photos, veterinary notes, name, email address, or advertising identifier for PetCue’s subscription operation.

PostHog

Where enabled, PostHog may process limited product-usage events and technical information so we can understand feature use and improve reliability. These events should not include the substance of cat health records, free-text notes, photographs, medication details, or veterinary content. PostHog is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

6Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the app and subscription: processing necessary to perform our contract with you, including validating access and restoring purchases.
  • Reliability, security, and improvement: our legitimate interests in diagnosing crashes, preventing misuse, understanding aggregate feature performance, and improving PetCue, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal compliance: processing necessary to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations.
  • Consent: where applicable law or device settings require consent, including optional analytics or permissions. You may withdraw consent through the relevant app or device controls without affecting earlier lawful processing.

7Permissions

PetCue may request access to features such as photos, camera, notifications, or files only when needed for a feature you choose to use. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings. Refusing an optional permission may limit the related feature but should not prevent unrelated features from working.

8Sharing and international processing

We disclose personal data only to service providers needed to operate PetCue, comply with law, protect rights and security, or complete a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. Apple, RevenueCat, and PostHog may process information in countries outside Poland or the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are supported by adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share personal data for third-party behavioral advertising.

9Retention

Locally stored cat-care content remains on your device until you delete it, delete the relevant cat profile or record, or remove the app, subject to any iCloud backups you control. Subscription, diagnostic, and analytics information is retained by Apple, RevenueCat, and PostHog for the periods needed for their stated purposes, legal obligations, fraud prevention, and configured retention settings. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain records, or resolve disputes.

10Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information processed. Local storage reduces central exposure, but no device, backup, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device and Apple account with a strong passcode, current software, and appropriate account security.

11Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; receive portable data; withdraw consent; and complain to a supervisory authority. Because most PetCue content is stored only on your device, we may not possess or be able to identify it. You can generally manage that content directly in the app or through your device and iCloud settings.

For information controlled by us, contact support@petcueapp.com. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate the relevant record. In the EEA, you may complain to your local data protection authority or to Poland’s supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

12Children and families

PetCue is not directed to children under 13. A person under 18 may use PetCue only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Any subscription must be purchased or authorized by an adult through the adult’s Apple account. We do not knowingly seek to collect children’s names, contact details, or advertising identifiers. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us improperly, contact support@petcueapp.com.

13Regional disclosures

Users outside the EEA may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Where those laws apply, we will honor mandatory rights and provide required disclosures. PetCue’s no-sale and no-cross-app-advertising practices apply globally.

14Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to PetCue, service providers, or law. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and, where required, provide additional notice. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
